Today is the international blog action day. This year’s campaign is about the water!
The truth is that there are places on earth that lack clean water for years. I believe that the people who live there know how to appreciate this resource. As for the rest of us – very few takes in mind saving water.
I had personal experiences with lack of water in the mountains, that made me appreciate it, and realize how scary it is not to have any.
It may finish one day. And that will be the end of humans if we don’t do anything about it.
Many people are expecting the end of earth by floods, earthquakes, global warming, global cold, meteorites… but maybe the end will come from lack of clean water.
There are places on earth where people are already understanding that – suffering and dying.
Blog action day 2010 is about that – what we can do?

I have heard from many of my friends that all the fuss around the climate change is made up from scientists.
What I think is that the inexistence of the problem is made up by companies who want to make money out of their products, that endanger the climate.
If you think more carefully – why would the scientists lie about it? What would they gain? And yet – the producers and traders will gain a lot if they continue what they are doing.
Don’t we all see that climate changes are already happening? Don’t we all see the abnormalities in the weather.
I know that we need all the stuff that we use – gas for transport, electricity, food from large artificial farms and so on – I know we are not going back to living in caves in harmony with the nature.
But I also know that we can find ways not to harm the little that is left, to make all that we need in a more painless way. If we can invent all that we have invented, if we can reach the progress that we have reached – then we can find ways to keep the world around us.
It all should start in people minds. We should realize the danger and start thinking that we should prevent it, that WE should do something.
Blog action day initiative is about this – helping people to start thinking in this way, an hopefully – strat acting!
Go to the Blog action day page, then if you don’t have blog click on the “Take action” button and put your name amongst the people that care!

There was some holidays in Bulgaria last week. I used them in one of the best ways – went to a hut in the mountains.
Three days of hard hiking on 80 degree slope with heavy rucksack trying to keep up with the more experienced mountaineers. The blood moves furiously, the heart is jumping out of my chest, the lungs are crying… I got my physical shape back on the third day and almost got the computers out of my system.
What more can want someone who is more than 12 hours in front of a computer, not using neither their heart, nor lungs or muscles as they should; sitting in a 90 degree body position, not blinking, not breathing …
Yes – hiking is not only great physical salvation, but mental clarification too. You get to understand how small and weak you are. How small are the everyday problems. You start to appreciate every sip of breath, every beat of the heart. Never the less one understands the greatness of the nature and starts to respect it in a real way.
The people you can meet in the mountains mostly have something in common – respect for the surrounding nature, respect for the other people, desire to help.
I believe that if more people go to the mountains, but with all the hard hiking with heavy rucksacks, many will see the world in a new, better way.Mountain | Tags: Experience, Hiking, Mountain | Comments (3)
There are some scenes I see every day that make think of waste – waste of food, clothes, paper, many more. There are people digging in the trash for stuff, and other that throw away most of what they buy. People tend to want more – more clothes, more food, bigger TV, two cars, so on. But do we need all that?
Is it possible for someone to take just what they need, and leave the rest to others, or just to the nature? I don’t believe so. If that was the case we probably will be still living in caves. So, to want more and more is good for development.
Yet – do we develop while buying more & more, then throwing away at least half of it? And for how long could the planet keep up with our greediness.Filed under Thoughts | Tags: Possesions, Thoughts | Comments (8)
